Winter Wonderland

I just recently became a member of the Creative Team for 4princessesdesigns and as part of that I create pages and layouts using her kits. A new kit that will be coming out next week is Winter Wonderland and here is the page that I created using the kit. It is fun to work with and great for the winter pics.

Shabby Shoppe Template Challenge

I entered the Shabby Shoppe Template Challenge and I get an extra entry to win the prize if I blog about the challenge and my entry so here it goes. I did a page about the day that Ellie came home from the hospital. I think she looks to tiny and cute. They grow up so fast it is easy to forget how small she used to be.

If you are interested in finding out more about the Shabby Shoppe then there is a blinkie on the right side of my blog. Check them out.

Christmas Pages

This was when we went tubing on Christmas day 2009. I created this page for the scraplifter's challenge on freedigitalscrapbooking.com

This was a page I made of the festival of trees 2010. It also was for a challenge on freedigitalscrapbooking.com  It was fun to turn the whole page at an angle and I have seen journaling that went around the page before and I decided to give it a try.

This just a general Christmas page from 2009 (i made a mistake and put the date as 2010 -- I will have to fix that before I print the page.)

Disney

One of my favorite scrapbooking websites right now is mousescrappers.com. This is a website dedicated entirely to Disney scrapbooking. On the site you can see what others have created and you can get free stuff. I have entered two of their challenges and it has been a lot of fun.

If I keep this up I might run out of Disney pictures to scrap. It looks like I need to plan a trip to Disneyland.

Christmas Cards

I made Christmas cards for both me and my mom this year. We got them printed at Costco and they are a 6x7.5 size. It is fun to make cards to send to family and friends.

Lake Powell

I created this page to document all of our Lake Powell trips this year. I used a template from a challenge on the DigiChick blog. We take so many Lake Powell pictures every year and there are not really any kits available so I just did a combination of kits for the alpha and elements but used some of my own scenery and water pictures for the background. I might do other pages for this year -- we went 6 times and I think that one page might not be enough!

Turning One

I finished working on a page to document Ellie's first birthday and I think that it turned out pretty well. I used a template that was created by Amy Martin (I got it from the November lily pad template challenge) and the "An Affair to Remember" kit from Shabby Shoppe. I did change the layout a little but by adding another picture because I like pages that have more pictures.

I used to teach 7th grade English and when we would do writing projects I would try to find a way for my students to publish their work because I felt that they did better work if they had an audience. I also feel that it is generally the same for all of us. That is why I have decided to begin this blog. It is for me really. I enjoy doing digital scrapbooking and I feel that it will mean a little bit more if people besides myself and Rob will actually see my work. Lately I have been entering a couple of scrapbooking contests or challenges and I have even won a few. As I did this I felt a great need to share my creations with others and so this is now how I am going to do that. Scrapbooking for me is how I can be a little creative and record my personal history at the same time. Thanks for taking a look at what I am doing.
